Nutley NJ’s own Famous “Stuffed Cupcakes”, featured recently on the Today Show, WPIX, WABC, Bride Magazine and more….
Maureen Jaret is the creator of the famous cupcakes and it all started when she decided to mix things up a bit and fill the cupcakes. “My husband and I developed a recipe for a peanut butter filling. The following Sunday, I prepared 200 chocolate cupcakes, filled with the mixture…it was an instant hit.” Jaret said customers sang their praises and she was inundated with inquires as to what other flavors of filling she had,” Jaret took the hint from her customers and began baking cupcakes filled with everything from hazelnut chocolate cream to margarita custard. Today, the Jarets have over 130 different varieties of stuffed cupcakes on their roster and now in addition to Nutley NJ, Westfield is now known as the “home of the stuffed cupcakes.” According to Lisa Bertone, owner of the Westfield Rockn’ Joe, to date, sales of Stuffed Cupcakes have been terrific! A true compliment to the number of unique products that we already offer to our customers.”
Rockn' Joe
Representatives of Rockn' Joe Franchise Systems in Cranford (www.rocknjoe.net) and 101.9 RXP in New York (www.1019rxp.com) today announced the two companies are partnering for joint promotions and charity fundraisers this fall.
"We found there was a lot of synergy between the radio station, which merges new music, classic rock & alternative, and our rock n' roll coffeehouses," said Kevin Brennan, CEO of Rockn' Joe Franchise Systems, which owns the Rockn' Joe Coffeehouse + Bistro brand. "We're both all about the experience, so it made sense for us to work together on these exciting projects."
The collaboration kicked off on 9/22, when 101.9 RXP and Rockn' Joe representatives were at the Cranford Train Station on Eastman Street from 6:30-7:30 a.m. to hand out cards for complimentary cups of coffee and access into an RXP "Secret Show." Similar events will be scheduled in October and November.
In addition, Rockn' Joe and 101.9 RXP will be sponsoring an acoustic concert series at the coffeehouse locations in Cranford, Westfield, Caldwell and Kendall Park, N.J. Up and coming musicians will be selected to perform, with the top bands featured on a compact disc the radio station will produce with Rockn' Joe.
Matt Dalton, a project coordinator for 101.9 RXP, said the co-branded CD sampler will focus on local talent who are about to break onto the national stage. All the proceeds from this limited-run CD, only available at Rockn' Joe, will be donated to Project Sunshine of New York.
"We are titling this CD `A Special Blend for A Special Cause,' as it will offer some great music and 100 percent of the proceeds will help a great cause," said Dalton, noting Project Sunshine is a non-profit group that provides free educational, recreational, and social programs to children facing medical challenges and their families.
Dalton noted the radio station will air announcements promoting the availability of the Limited Edition CD available at Rockn' Joe.
"We're excited to move forward with this partnership, as the possibilities are limitless," Brennan said. "This is really a great fit. Our customers at the coffeehouse really connect to the music played on 101.9 RXP, and we know their morning disc jockeys are fueled on Rockn' Joe coffee. We expect this to be a great ride."
National Waffle Day is August 24, but why just celebrate for one day?
At Rockn' Joe, where our authentic Belgium waffles are unbelievable, we are celebrating all week. From Aug. 24-31, stop in and buy a waffle at full price, and receive a coupon for half-off your next waffle.
If you haven't tried one of our waffles, crafted by "Wafels and Dinges," now is the perfect time.
Natali Wines Paired with the Rockn' Joe Menu for a Memorable Meal
More than 200 years ago, London's Royal Society of the Arts recognized two New Jersey winemakers for producing the first bottles of exquisite wine derived from colonial agriculture. Today, vines from that rich soil have generated the wines now sold at Rockn' Joe Coffeehouse and Bistro in Westfield.
Natali Vineyards of Cape May County today began selling 10 of its finest wines through the Westfield coffeehouse, at Prospect Street and North Avenue. The winery has selected four white wines, four red wines and two dessert wines that Rockn? Joe patrons can enjoy as part of their meal, or to take-out. Wines, ranging from $22-$29, will only be sold by the bottle.
Al Natali, a managing member of the Natali Vineyard, said there has been plenty of preparation to make the wine available, including tastings of the Rockn' Joe menu and recommendations on what wines best fit with each dish. Wine pairing menus have been made for Rockn' Joe and sit at each table, helping diners to select the best wine to maximize the experience.
"We are thrilled to be bringing Natali Vineyards wines to Rockn' Joe in Westfield, as our wines have won numerous medals," Natali said. "We grow European wine grapes, known as Vitis Vinifera, which are ideal to create the perfect bottle of wine. It's something I hope you will experience."
A prime reason for the vineyard's success is its location, in the Cape May peninsula. In New Jersey, the weather can be hostile: cold, humid, or rainy. But lower Cape May has a maritime microclimate because of its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and the Delaware Bay. The sandy soil also provides excellent drainage and the summer breeze helps keep the canopy dry.
"We grow our grapes in an area similar to the Bordeaux region of France, between the Atlantic and the lower Gironde River," Natali said. "That is why our Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc do so well and are so popular."
Natali said there are more than 4,000 vines at his 22-acre winery, creating 13 different varieties of wine. More information is available at www.natalivineyards.com and www.rocknjoe.net
