Jaffe Communications Inc., a (www.jaffecom.com), a full service public relations, creative services and publishing firm based in Westfield, today announced Bruno Tedeschi has joined the firm as a principal.

"Bruno not only brings a wealth of traditional media experience to our practice, but he also has a firm and deep understanding of how to communicate with the tools of new media," said Jonathan Jaffe, president of Jaffe Communications. "He will be able to offer our clients a comprehensive communications package that encompasses all types of media in this fast-paced sector."

Tedeschi worked for 18 years in the newspaper industry in New Jersey as a reporter and editor. Tedeschi started at the now-defunct Daily Journal in Elizabeth in 1990 as a business reporter and over the years worked on progressively larger newspapers around the state with increasing responsibilities.

Tedeschi was an award-winning environmental reporter for The Record of Bergen County, covering the state Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Department of Environmental Protection.

Tedeschi became the Statehouse Bureau chief for The Record, responsible for supervising the second largest statehouse bureau in the country. He oversaw reporters who covered all aspects of state government and politics and was responsible for launching award-winning investigative pieces. During his time in Trenton, he was a frequent guest commentator on NJN Network's Reporters Roundtable, News 12's Roundtable and appeared as a guest on MSNBC, Fox 5, WABC 7, WNYC with Brian Lehrer.

Tedeschi joined The Star-Ledger in 2002 as a bureau chief, where he directed 11 reporters, trained interns and produced content for eight section fronts of the paper as well edited copy for front page articles. He was on the staff that helped win the Pulitzer Prize for deadline reporting in 2005. Tedeschi became the city editor in 2006, directing a staff of 11 reporters and columnists responsible for covering Newark and Essex County.

Tedeschi is a 1989 graduate of Hofstra University with a dual undergraduate degree in chemistry and philosophy and a 1990 graduate from New York University with a master?s degree in journalism. He lives in Westfield with his wife, Elizabeth, and two children, Zoe, 7 and Dylan, 5.
